goLance Service Fees
A User-Friendly and Transparent Fee Structure
We understand how important it is in having a transparent and easy way to view services fees. We are excited to announce a new user interface that provides greater transparency and flexibility with our fee structure.
Previously, goLance charged a service fee to freelancers by default of 7.95%. With our new fee structure, clients have the freedom to decide who pays the fee or how the fee can be split. Having this option gives clients and freelancers more transparency
Let's illustrate this further, this will be the example we will use going forward:
Say that a freelancer's hourly rate is $10.00 and they worked for 10 hours.
goLance would charge the client $100.00 and unless specified by the client, goLance would take 7.95% from the freelancer's $100.
The freelancer would receive $92.05.
Now, when creating a contract, a client will have a sliding scale to determine who will pay the fee. See images below to see the new interface.
See the images and examples below:
If the client chooses 0% then the fees are as follows for the example above:

The freelancer will receive: $92.05
The client will be charged: $100
If the client opts to pay 4%:

The freelancer will receive: $96.05
The client will be charged: $104
If the client opts to pay the full fee of 7.95%:

The freelancer will receive: $100
The client will be charged: $107.95
In all cases, goLance will still deduct the same fee of $7.95 from the total payment of $100. However, clients now have the ability to decide how the fee is split and can choose to pay the full fee themselves or split it with the freelancer.
We believe that this new user interface provides greater transparency and flexibility with our fee structure and will benefit both clients and freelancers.
The client will also be able to change this in the contract's settings at any time.
